I like Scarlett Johansson, but she really shines here. I love performances that are just fun to watch and this is one such occasion. She’s sassy, smart, strong, sexy and funny, and exuded a real movie star quality. On the other hand, I have to admit, I’ve not been a particular fan of Tatum Channing, but there was one scene where he won me over with his character and as an actor, and I was on his side in the movie from then on lol. Cast was rounded out by Ray Romano (I never would have predicted it, but he’s always terrific onscreen regardless of the project) and Woody Harrelson pretty much doing what he does best. And one kinda fun cameo.
The film also had great photography/editing and a cool production (and sound) design with a definite Mad Men/space age feel—you wouldn’t expect it for a movie like this, but we definitely are glad we saw it on the big screen.
Frankly, it also served as a bit of reference/inspiration for my next story that's scripted and I've begun working on. But more about that in the future, soon enough!
