For immediate release
Stranded at an old English manor during a raging rainstorm, globetrotting adventurer Rob Hanes is recruited to determine who among that evening’s guests has attempted to murder their host. More comfortable barreling headfirst into the middle of a fray than relying on his powers of deduction, Rob discovers that everyone is a suspect and nobody is what they appear to be, as the story races to a surprising--and amusing--conclusion.
“Regular fans of the series know that Rob isn’t infallible,” says series creator Randy Reynaldo. “Readers will certainly see proof of that in this issue!”
“Death on the Moors” appears in the next issue of Rob Hanes Adventures scheduled for release in December 2004 from WCG Comics. The story is in keeping with writer-artist Randy Reynaldo’s recent announcement that the high-flying adventure series will go in new directions and tackle a greater variety of storylines, while keeping stories continuity-free, complete and self-contained.
The issue is currently being solicited in Diamond Comics Distribution’s Previews catalog and also is available through FM International. Rob Hanes Adventures features the globe-spanning adventures of a private investigator who works for worldwide Justice International. As a modern-day "soldier-of-fortune," Rob travels the world on assignment in stories that often mirror real-life world events. A preview of the issue is available at the wcgcomics.com website.
Every issue of Rob Hanes Adventures features a complete, full-length black-and-white story, full color cover, and retails for $2.95 U.S. The series is a 1995 Xeric Foundation award winner and past nominee for the Russ Manning Award for Most Promising Newcomer, which is presented annually in conjunction with the Will Eisner Awards.
ROB HANES IN FULL COLOR!
For the first time ever, a full-length Rob Hanes Adventures story is available in FULL COLOR at 01 Comics! Visit http://www.01comics.com/laf01.htm for details. “The EC Express,” a story that takes Rob to war-torn Eastern Europe, is available now.
Though series creator Randy Reynaldo says he has been approached in the past about making the series available online, 01 Comics Editor Barry Gregory’s love of the series and understanding of the work made the decision easy.
“I was simply blown away by Barry’s color work on the story,” says Reynaldo. “The color brings a new dimension to the story and art, and the work has been raised brought up to a whole new level!
"I am absolutely thrilled to have Rob Hanes Adventures at 01 Comics," says 01 Comics editor Barry Gregory. "It has been my favorite comic--bar none--since I first discovered it almost a decade ago.”
Many other outstanding comics can be read and downloaded at the 01 Comics website, including Steve Conley’s Astounding Space Thrills, Jenni and Barry Gregory’s Abby’s Menagerie, and Mitch Byrd’s Sign Post on the Left.
